Ciara and Chrisette Michele are going head-to-head in a battle for the No. 1 spot on next week’s charts.
Ciara’s third album Fantasy Ride and Chrisette’s sophomore album Epiphany were both released on Tuesday. According to HITS Daily Double, next week’s top debut looks like a heated race between the two R&B singers.
Ciara has lined up several high-profile TV appearances this week including “Good Morning America,” “Live with Regis and Kelly,” and “SNL.” Meanwhile, Chrisette is benefitting from strong digital sales. Her album is currently No. 1 on iTunes and No. 2 in MP3 downloads on Amazon.com where it is priced at $2.99
Which leading lady will dominate the charts? The results will be revealed next week.
UPDATE: Based on one-day sales, HITS reports that Ciara and Chrisette are on track to do between 70-80,000 in their first week. But the girls may face competition for No. 1 from Disney’s Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack.
