Eminem and Adam Sandler

Eminem will find himself back on the big screen for the first time since 2002’s 8 Mile when he makes his comedic debut alongside some of Hollywood’s funniest men later this month.

Director Judd Apatow has cast Marshall Mathers in his latest movie, Funny People, the story of a famous comedian who has a near-death experience.

Em makes a cameo in the film, which also stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, Aziz Ansari, and RZA.

Apatow, who directed such box office hits as The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, was nervous about working with the rapper. “I was scared to pitch jokes to him, then I realized his songs are as nasty as anything that has ever been spoken,” he tells MTV. “There is no way to offend him.”

Funny People hits theaters nationwide on July 31.
