Musicians, actors, and politicians gathered at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Saturday for the inaugural Mandela Day celebration. The concert and dinner, honoring South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela’s 91st birthday, featured performances from Lil’ Kim with Cyndi Lauper (“Time After Time”), Alicia Keys with Angelique Kidjo (“Afrika”), Aretha Franklin with Josh Groban (“You Raise Me Up”), will.i.am, Jesse McCartney, Queen Latifah (“There’s a Light”), Stevie Wonder, Wyclef Jean, and more.
