2009 Soul Train Awards

Love, peace, and soul, plus Keri Hilson and Monica were in the building at the 2009 Soul Train Awards at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta on Tuesday (Nov. 3).
The revived awards show, hosted by Oscar nominees Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, featured a duet from Toni Braxton and Trey Songz (Yesterday”), as well as performances by Keri Hilson, Robin Thicke, Ryan Leslie, Raheem DeVaughn with Ludacris, Chrisette Michele, Mario with Sean Garrett, and more. Henson, Boyz II Men, Chico DeBarge, Johnny Gill, Estelle, Vita, Mike Phillips, and Melanie Fiona staged an all-star tribute to Motown, while Erykah Badu, Melle Mel, Ledisi, Fantasia, and Angie Stone honored the legendary Chaka Khan.
Beyoncé was the big winner, picking up three awards including Album and Song of the Year. Keri Hilson won two awards of her own including Best New Artist. Jamie Foxx and T-Pain’s “Blame It” was named Record of the Year and Michael Jackson Entertainer of the Year.
The 2009 Soul Train Awards will simulcast on BET and Centric on Sunday, November 29, at 9 p.m.
