Snoop Dogg Wants to Replace Simon Cowell

With Simon Cowell set to leave “American Idol” after this season, everyone is vying for the open position, including Snoop Dogg, who told Larry King why he should fill the tough Brit’s seat.
“I like ‘American Idol,'” said the hip-hop icon, who’s branched out into film, TV, and even porn. “I think I would be the perfect host to fill in.”
The Doggfather feels he is more than qualified to sit at the judges’ table alongside Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, and Ellen DeGeneres. “I understand the dynamics of music and I see stars before they’re made,” he told King. “I feel like they be passing up on some good people ’cause they don’t really have it together on their first try.”
Despite his busy schedule promoting his new CD/DVD More Malice, Snoop tries to catch the hit show every now and then, but he may need some brushing up. “I watch it occasionally. I like to see what it do ’cause [there’s] always some new talent that’s hot. The four or five people that I’ve seen that won on the show are still doing well—Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Jennifer [Hudson], and the boy that played the harmonica… What’s his name?”
