Dr. Dre Drafts Jay-Z for 'Detox' Single

After six years, it looks like Dr. Dre is finally ready to go to bat with the lead single from his highly-anticipated Detox album.
The rap icon was on hand with Interscope Chairman Jimmy Iovine to debut the new Red Sox edition of his popular Beats by Dr. Dre headphones during Opening Day of the 2010 Major League Baseball season at Boston’s Fenway Park on Easter Sunday. In addition to launching the $400 headphones and hitting the field for batting practice, he also made another major announcement.
The hip-hop hall of famer confirmed to NESN reporter Heidi Watney that “Under Pressure” is the title of the first offering from his long-awaited Detox project. The song features another rap all-star, Jay-Z. “‘Under Pressure,’ it’s a brand new single from Dr. Dre and Jay-Z,” revealed Iovine.
Last month, Dre protégé Stat Quo told staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud to expect nothing but the best from the Doc. “He’s very important and he knows that, so he’s not just gonna put out some bullshit,” he said. “You never get that second chance to make that first impression.”
