Kelis Sets July Release for 'Flesh Tone'

Mark your calendars, Kelis fans. The singer wants to make you dance with her new album, which now has an official release date.

Kelis has announced July 6 as the date U.S. and Canadian fans can pick up Flesh Tone, while other countries will get their hands on it a month and a half earlier on May 17. Led by the No. 1 dance single “Acapella,” the disc boasts production from Free School, Boys Noize, DJ Ammo, and Benny Benassi.

“It’s an album you can get sweaty to,” Kelis told staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud last year of her first project in nearly four years. “I’ve been feeling animalistic and kind of carnal in my approach to things lately.”

Last night Kelis was joined by guest DJ will.i.am on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for an electrifying performance of “Acapella.”
