Roc Nation’s J. Cole entertained partygoers celebrating the 23rd birthday of BMX biker Nigel Sylvester earlier this week (Aug. 23). The event–aptly titled “23 on 23”–was hosted by DJ Clark Kent and LTD magazine’s Hawaii Mike. Crowds filled the staircases and ground floor inside 8Bond Studio in New York City to catch a glimpse of the man of the hour and his special guest.

Standing beside the Queens rider while overlooking a throng of spectators, Cole ripped through “Who Dat,” the first single off his forthcoming major label debut; “Blow Up,” a recently released self-produced track; and “A Star Is Born,” sans Jay-Z.

Watch the North Carolina native spit his clever rhymes after the jump.
