Bruno Mars is ready to explode on “Grenade,” the latest leak off his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans (Oct. 5). Following his arrest earlier this week for cocaine possession, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter reminds listeners that music comes first, turning introspective on this tortured piano ballad. “I would go through all this pain, take a bullet straight through my brain/ Yes I would die for you baby, but you won’t do the same,” he sings of a lover’s inability to return his sentiment.

Bruno’s week turned from bad to good when he received news that he will be performing on the October 9th episode of “SNL.” Meanwhile, his single “Just the Way You Are” jumped to No. 1 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
