New Music: Avant - 'Kiss Goodbye'

Before Trey Songz and Chris Brown stepped to the mic, R&B veteran Avant was doing his part to provide the soundtrack for the bedroom. With five albums under his belt, the acclaimed songwriter makes a welcomed return with his sixth opus, The Letter (Dec. 7). His first single, “Kiss Goodbye,” a piano-laden ode reminding men to treat their ladies right, resurrects the emotion missing from many of today’s R&B works. As for what’s to come on Avant’s forthcoming project, the singer promises the tunes will be as revealing as the title suggests.

“A letter is what you write to people to tell them what’s going on in your life,” says Avant. “This album is a letter from me to my fans of what’s going on in my life, what’s going through my head, and my struggles as a man.”
