M.I.A. turns to ’80s chic on “Zig Zag,” a cut originally intended for her third album ///Y/. Threading in the melody from New Kids on the Block’s “You’ve Got It (The Right Stuff),” the Sri Lankan mami spits over a squiggly electronic beat, keeping the rhythm moving as she bigs up her parents for making her the way she is. “Thanks to my mum and daddy/ Hot spicy like their curry/ Over there, toilet that way/ Run away if you can’t stand me,” she advises.
