Mobb Deep’s Prodigy has finally come home. The Queens rapper was released from New York’s Mid-State Correctional Facility on Monday (March 7) after serving three years of his five-year sentence stemming from a gun possession charge in 2006. While leaving the penitentiary, the MC looked classy in a dress shirt and tie, braving the snow on his first day of freedom.

Prodigy, who rose to prominence with Mobb Deep partner Havoc in the ’90s, is currently gearing up for the release of his new book My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, on shelves April 19. In the next few weeks, the G-Unit signee is expected to hit the studio with Havoc, revealing via Facebook that new music is on the way.

“Prodigy will be back in a couple of days!!!” wrote the group. “Be prepared for another Mobb Deep classic!!!!”
