Kid Cudi fans will have to wait until next year to get their hands on a new album. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper has announced a name change for his rock band with producer Dot da Genius, as well as a release date for their debut.

Cudi took to Twitter to share the big news. “News update! Me and @DotDaGenius are no longer called 2 Be Continuum. The world will call us WZRD, which is short for WIZARD,” he revealed.

The project’s release will coincide with his 28th birthday. “The title of the album is still undetermined… And heres the biggest news, the official release date will be January 30, my birthday.”

While the album was originally expected to drop this year, he didn’t want to rush. “Had to push it back to get the proper time to mix and master, want it to sonically be where it needs to be. For your smoke sesh enjoyment!”

He will, however, serve up a teaser of the first single before the year’s end. “Were gonna release a snippet of the first single soon. You will be pleased. Ladies, your gonna have something to shake those booties to.”

The father of one also surprised some of his followers by announcing that the album won’t contain any vulgarity. “Also, the WZRD album does not contain any profanity or the usage of the word ‘nigga’. A universal album for everyone,” he explained.

When some of his fans complained, he quipped, “Some of yall listen to so much ignorant shit that thats all you know or are accustomed to. My fans are smart, I know yall better then this.”
