Dawn Richard Dishes on Danity Kane, Dirty Money, & Diddy on 'Breakfast Club'

Dawn Richard addressed rumors and ridiculousness on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club.” The “Bombs” singer, whose EP Armor On currently holds the No. 1 spot on iTunes R&B/Soul chart, dished on the end of Dirty Money, parting ways with Diddy and Bad Boy, reconnecting with her Danity Kane bandmates, her romantic life, and more.

“I made sure that he respected me as an artist,” said Dawn of her former Bad Boy boss. “He let me go and it was a good look and I respect him for that. I will always respect him for that ’cause he could have did me dirty. But instead he did the noble thing.”

While she has spoken to her ex-Danity Kane bandmates including Aubrey O’Day, a reunion doesn’t look like it will happen anytime soon. “I’ve done a lot of [groups],” said the New Orleans native. “This was the test for me and I think we proved where we need to go, so now it’s about hard work, staying at No. 1.”

While the spotlight focused on Puff in Dirty Money, Dawn wasn’t distraught over her lack of face time. “It didn’t upset me because I was getting a check. It didn’t upset me because the dream was being made,” she said. “Would you be upset if you were playing basketball and they gave you the opportunity to be up with Kobe, even if it was a second on the court, you still get a ring.”

Watch Dawn tackle the tough questions like a champ.
