During his visit to Cali, Big Sean sat down with Power 106’s Mando Fresko to speak about the G.O.O.D. Music single “Mercy,” his sophomore album, relationship status (he’s taken, ladies), and love for fur.

“I just feel like this album is about progression,” the Detroit MC said of the follow-up to his 2011 debut Finally Famous. “I feel like everything I do I progress. Kanye said, ‘I want you to be better than me and better than Jay. I want you to be the best ’cause you the younger generation. We passing our secrets on to you.’ If you don’t take it to a new height and new levels, then what the fuck are we doing this for? That’s the point, to evolve.”

The album, due in late summer/early fall, will include a new collaboration with Tyga. “That’s gonna be a fresh one for the radio. That’s just gonna kill ’em.”

He also shared details about his favorite song called “One Man Can Change the World,” which was inspired by his most dedicated fan. “When you got the mic, you gotta make sure you say something for these people, especially for these ones who look up to you, or your moment in time will just be wasted.”

Plus, find out his thoughts on animal rights organization PETA, who recently had some words for his boss. “I’m a Detroit player, so I rock leather, fur,” said Sean. “I respect that movement, but damn I love that fur.”
