Hit-Boy is taking his career to the next level. After producing records for Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber, the “Ni**as in Paris” producer is readying his first rap album.

The project, entitled HITstory, will be available for free on August 7. “This album is for the sophisticated ear,” he tweeted, along with the artwork.

The 25-year-old Southern California native has already released two singles, “Jay-Z Interview” and “Old School Caddy” featuring Kid Cudi.

On Friday, he played the album for one of his idols, Jay-Z. “Luv to king HO,” tweeted Hit-Boy, who can be seen in the video for “Mercy.”

In addition to his own album, the producer-turned-rapper has contributed to the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation Cruel Summer, due September 4.
