Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz

With just two days to go, MTV has added hip-hop heavyweights Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz to the list of performers for this year’s Video Music Awards.

The “Starships” rapper will perform at the Staples Center with a secret guest, while her tourmate 2 Chainz will make his VMA debut.

After closing the 2011 show, Lil Wayne will take the stage for the first live performance of “No Worries,” the second single off his upcoming album I Am Not a Human Being II.

Rihanna will open the show, teaming up with A$AP Rocky on the remix to her new single “Cockiness (Love It)” and Calvin Harris for “We Found Love.”

Previously announced performers include Alicia Keys, Frank Ocean, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Pink, and Green Day. The VMAs will air live from Los Angeles on September 6 at 8 p.m. EST.
