Video: Dan Black f/ Kelis - 'Hearts'
Kelis stays on the cutting edge. For her latest collaboration, she teams with Dan Black in the time-lapsed video for his electro-dance single “Hearts.” The British singer-producer shot his scenes on a rooftop in Paris, while Kelis appears via animated postcards.
The song was originally recorded for Kelis’ upcoming album FOOD, due in September. “After I wrote one of the songs, I thought, this is so where I want to be going with my solo stuff. I just loved it,” Black told ELLE. “So, nervously, I asked her if I could use it, presuming she’d say no. But, magically, she said yes! I am a huge fan of hers.”
Kelis’ album was produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek and will be released on his label Federal Prism. The first single, “Jerk Ribs,” premiered last month.
