New Music: John Mayer f/ Frank Ocean - 'Wildfire'

John Mayer and Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean lends his voice to fellow singer-songwriter John Mayer on “Wildfire,” a short and sweet ballad off Mayer’s album Paradise Valley, due August 20. The Odd Future crooner brings his peaceful energy to the subtle 90-second song.

Mayer played guitar on “Pyramids” and “White” off Ocean’s album channel ORANGE and performed with him on “SNL.”

“Frank is such an interesting, deep, touched, wonderful guy,” Mayer previously told Rolling Stone. “They don’t make a lot of other Frank Oceans, and the guy is looking for another. And the way that his mind works is craving the same frequency that he’s able to communicate on, and I think he’s just searching for that kind of depth that he has inside of himself in someone else. He’s fascinating to me. He’s so great.”

Paradise Valley, which also features Mayer’s girlfriend Katy Perry, is now available to stream in its entirety on iTunes.
