It’s been a banner year for Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and it’s only getting better. After dominating last month’s VMAs, the pop and hip-hop stars have been nominated for five nominations at the 2013 MTV EMAs.
Timberlake scored nods in the categories of Best Male, Best Live, Best Look, Best U.S. Act, and Best Video categories, while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will vie for Best New, Best Hip-Hop, Best Song, Best U.S. Act, and Best World Stage.
Close behind is Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Robin Thicke, who are all up for four awards at the 20th anniversary show.
In the Video of the Year category, Timberlake’s “Mirrors” will compete against Lady Gaga’s “Applause,” Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” and Thirty Seconds to Mars’ “Up in the Air.”
Best Song nominees include Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven,” Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop,” Rihanna’s “Diamonds,” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.”
The MTV EMAs will air live from Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome on Nov. 10.
