Drake Brings Out Wiz Khalifa, Jhené Aiko, & Future at Tour Kickoff
After all the controversy, Drake kicked off his “Would You Like a Tour?” trek with a sold-out show at Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center on Friday night.
Following sets from PARTYNEXTDOOR, Miguel, and Future, the Toronto rapper opened with “Tuscan Leather.” He performed new material off his No. 1 album Nothing Was the Same for the first time including “Worst Behavior,” “305 to My City,” and “Pound Cake.”
At one point, he was elevated on a round platform above the stage so he could see the entire audience and shout them out individually.
“I feel like motherfuckin’ Bon Jovi up here,” joked Drizzy.
The crowd went wild when he brought out Pittsburgh’s own Wiz Khalifa for the city’s anthem “Black and Yellow.” “Bro Drake brought me on stage and I turned into a Pixburgh ratchet. Haha. All good,” tweeted the Taylor Gang MC.
Jhené Aiko also joined him on “From Time” and “Come Thru.” “wow ! i can’t believe that just happened . i am overwhelmed right now !!!!” she wrote.
Despite their dust-up earlier in the week, he showed that he and Future remain cool by bringing him back on stage to perform “Honest” as he rapped along.
“Pittsburgh was Epic,Im forever grateful for my fans.#Honest,” tweeted Future.
The tour continues tonight in Philadelphia and makes its way across the country before winding down in mid-December.
