Lauryn Hill

Lauryn Hill is not only speaking out through her music, but also in a new documentary. The Fugees frontwoman serves as narrator of Swedish filmmaker Göran Hugo Olsson’s Concerning Violence.

The film, which is set to debut at this month’s Sundance Film Festival, explores African liberation movements of the 1960s and 1970s through archival footage and excerpts from psychologist Frantz Fanon’s anticolonial text The Wretched of the Earth, reports Indiewire.

Ms. Hill is set to resume her “Homecoming Series” of shows on January 26 in Huntington, NY. Throughout the month of February, she will also stop in Charlotte, Atlanta, and Miami.

Additionally, she is readying a new project, Letters From Exile, for release on her label, Obverse Creation Music.
