Behind the Video: Trevor Jackson f/ B.o.B - 'Drop It (Remix)'
Trevor Jackson scored a hit—and a McDonald’s commercial—with his R&B banger “Drop It,” and now he’s back for round two. The 17-year-old singer teamed up with his Atlantic Records labelmate B.o.B while shooting the remix video in L.A. With director Mike Ho once again at the helm, Trevor busted out some slick choreography in a warehouse.
It was only his second time meeting the Hustle Gang rapper. “We just clicked,” said Trevor. “Our chemistry was good on-camera and he just brought a whole new element to the video, so I’m thankful that he was able to make it out here.”
Whereas the original video was more concept-driven, the remix video is pure visual. “I wanted to take my photography and make it move,” said Ho. “You’re gonna see more chemistry and more performance-driven [scenes], but beautiful shots.”
B.o.B was happy to be part of the production. “I just feel honored to be in the presence of such talent,” he said.
