Bow Wow is all grown up and making some big changes. After over 20 years, the “106 & Park” host has decided to retire his stage name.

The 27-year-old rapper will now professionally go by his birth name, Shad Moss. The name change will go into effect following the BET Awards on June 29.

“After BET awards i will no longer go by Bow Wow!” he announced on Instagram. “Im going by my real name ‘Shad Moss’ we made alot of history as bow wow. Now its time for the next chapter and challenge.”

The name change is part of his evolution. “Bow wow does not fit who i am today,” he explained. “Ima father, business man, TV host, Actor, and rapper! Time for MR Moss to take over!”

Snoop Dogg gave him the stage name Lil’ Bow Wow in 1993. In 2002, he dropped the Lil’ from his name and just went by Bow Wow.

His first order of business as Shad Moss is releasing his new single “Right Now” featuring K Camp.
