Beyoncé Leads 2014 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations

Who runs the VMAs? Beyoncé. The pop superstar leads the field with eight nominations at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

Queen Bey is nominated in categories including Video of the Year, Best Female Video, and Best Collaboration for several tracks from her platinum self-titled album.

Eminem and Iggy Azalea follow with seven nods apiece, MTV announced today via SnapChat.

Em’s nominations include Best Hip-Hop Video (“Berzerk”) and two for “The Monster” with Rihanna (Best Male and Best Collaboration), while Iggy’s “Fancy” will vie for Video of the Year, Best Female Video, and Best Pop Video.

The Aussie rap sensation shared her excitement, tweeting, “Just woke up to the news I’ve been nominated for 7 VMAs! huge news! Realllllly hope I walk away with an award this year. Fingers crossed.”

Pharrell Williams scores four nods and is the the only male artist in the Video of the Year category, which also includes Beyoncé, Iggy, Miley Cyrus, and Sia.

Other multiple nominees include Jay Z, Ariana Grande, Lorde, Pitbull, Sam Smith, and Jason Derulo.

Fans can vote for their favorites starting today by visiting vma.mtv.com.

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., on August 24, and will include performances from Usher, Grande, and 5 Seconds of Summer.
