New Music: Dawn Richard - 'Professional'

Dawn Richard

Go girl. A week after announcing her Blackheart album and releasing the “Blow” video, Dawn Richard gives her Hearts a song they can twerk to. On the dance floor-ready “Professional,” produced by Yonni and penned by Felly the Voice, Dawn shows who’s the boss with her slick talk.

“Your girl should give a resignation / She can’t do it like me,” she declares over the snapping beat.

Meanwhile, Danity Kane’s farewell album DK3 debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard R&B chart and at No. 44 on the Billboard 200 this week.

Blackheart, the second album in Dawn’s Heart trilogy, arrives January 15. She has been writing and producing alongside Noisecastle III. “This album is the most experimental album of my career as well as my biggest risk taker,” she said.

Listen to Dawn put in work.
