Rihanna Says New Album Coming 'Very Soon'
Is Rihanna about to surprise us with a new album this year? The pop superstar is speaking out about her top-secret eighth album.
In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” at the premiere of MAC’s AIDS film It’s Not Over on Tuesday, RiRi revealed that the project nicknamed “R8” would arrive “very soon.”
“That’s my hope,” she said. “I’m really excited about the music that we’ve been working on, so I can’t wait for everybody to hear it.”
She also hinted to reporters that she may be plotting a surprise release à la Beyoncé.
Earlier this month, RiRi played 10 tracks for label executives in New York including a potential single called “I’ve Been Searching for Something to Ignite Me When I’m Alone.”
She has been in the studio with DJ Mustard, Ester Dean, Ty Dolla $ign, and Ne-Yo, among others, working on the follow-up to her 2012 album Unapologetic.
“I can’t give you any hints of when it will drop,” she recently told fans during a meet-and-greet at Virginia’s Fort Belvoir. “It’s going to be great, that’s all I’m going to tell you and I’m excited about it.”
