Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment are gearing up to release a series of projects in the coming months. The first album Surf, which is set to drop by the end of the year, shines a spotlight on Donnie Trumpet, one of the four members of the band, which is also comprised of Chance, Peter Cottontale, and Nate Fox.
On the feel-good first release “Sunday Candy,” Chance provides the raps, Donnie plays the horns, and Jamila Woods lends her buttery vocals.
“We’re working on all this music together, but this project in particular is a Donnie Trumpet project,” Donnie told The FADER. “My music, with their influence and ideas, plus us all coming up with crazy shit to do. But at the end of the day, it’s my directing.”
Chance has also been in the studio with Frank Ocean, J. Cole, Migos, Rick Rubin, Emily King, and Francis and the Lights’ Francis Starlite.
