The Young OG Project

Fabolous is making a play for the fourth quarter. The Brooklyn rapper will release his first album in five years, The Young OG Project, on Christmas Day.

The digital-only album will arrive on iTunes and other platforms on December 25 via Desert Storm/Def Jam Records.

“I always looked at how records would come in the fourth quarter and people had a lot of excitement behind that,” Fabolous told MTV News. “And that kinda slowed down, but when I started releasing mixtapes, I saw the energy of adults getting something for Christmas and I thought that was kinda cool.”

“Lituation,” the first street leak, will be available to download as the instant grat track with iTunes pre-orders on December 15.

“It’s about a situation that can get lit,” he said. “It’s real street, kinda aggressive—just a New York aggressive street record.”

The album, previously titled Loso’s Way 2, marks the follow-up to 2009’s Loso’s Way. “The album is not really just telling a story, but it’s having a lot of fun,” he said. “It’s very ’90s-inspired and themed, a lot of flips and beats from the ’90s are on there.”

Fabolous is also the newest member of the Roc Nation family and the face of the Rocawear BLAK fall/winter campaign.
