Fresh off his two Grammy wins for “i,” Kendrick Lamar unexpectedly drops a bombshell with his new song “The Blacker The Berry.” The Compton MC provides some food for thought on the racially-charged track, which is quite a departure from the self-love-promoting “i.”
Over the boom-bap beat, produced by Boi-1da, he declares himself “the biggest hypocrite in 2015,” celebrates his African-American heritage, and tackles hatred and racism head on.
