Trey Songz Covers Usher's 'Nice & Slow' at BET Honors
In addition to Kanye West, Usher was recognized at the 2015 BET Honors. Usher’s godfather Ben Vereen and his idol Bobby Brown presented him with the Musical Arts Award for his 20-year career in music. Usher was overcome with emotion as he accepted the award from the New Edition frontman.
He thanked his mother Jonetta Patton and his fiancée/manager Grace Miguel.
“I’m thankful and I’m honored. I’m blessed to be a blessing to someone else,” said a humbled Usher. “If this honor is the beginning of my ‘you ain’t seen nothing yet,’ stay tuned.”
The R&B superstar also received a musical salute from Trey Songz, who covered his 1998 hit “Nice & Slow.”
The show featured additional performances from Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, K. Michelle, and Charlie Wilson.
