  /  04.06.2015

A day after debuting the Alex Da Kid-produced song, Rihanna premieres the powerful video for “American Oxygen” via TIDAL. The bad gal shows her stars and stripes in the Darren Craig-directed clip, which features footage from significant moments in American history, starting with immigrants arriving to the U.S. to President Obama’s inauguration.

In between clips of RiRi performing in front of an American flag, there are images of American leaders including Martin Luther King, Jr., 9/11, and most recently, the “Black Lives Matter” protests.

“This is the new America, we are the new America,” she sings while showing the diverse faces of American youth.

Watch her spread her message of unity.
