The Weeknd, Alicia Keys Join BET Awards Lineup

  /  06.25.2015

The BET Awards just got bigger. The Weeknd and Alicia Keys have been added to the lineup for Sunday’s show.

Before he headlines the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia in September, the “Can’t Feel My Face” singer will make his BET Awards debut at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater, reports ET. He is nominated for three awards including Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, the Centric Award, and the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award for his Fifty Shades of Grey hit “Earned It.”

Alicia is also set to perform for the first time since giving birth to her son Genesis in late December. The mother of two has been in the studio with her husband Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams working on her first album since 2012’s Girl on Fire.

“Alicia’s album is crazy. Harlem is gonna be real proud. New York is gonna be real proud,” Pharrell told Angie Martinez last year. “I’m tellin’ you. She’s getting ready to do something super next level. It supercedes anything that’s out.”

The Weeknd and Alicia join previously announced performers Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, Big Sean, Robin Thicke, and Janelle Monáe. Janet Jackson will be honored with the inaugural Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual award, and receive a dance tribute from Ciara, Jason Derulo, and Tinashe.

The BET Awards 2015 air live on Sunday, June 28, at 8 p.m.
