Fetty Wap Reveals Album Release Date

After owning the summer with hit after hit, Fetty Wap is finally ready to release his debut album this fall.

According to the Associated Press, the as-yet-untitled project will arrive on Sept. 25, just days before the deadline for Grammy eligibility.

“I’m just waiting for it to get mixed and mastered,” said Wap. “My album been done for like two months now.”

So what’s the hold up? Lyor Cohen, who signed Wap to 300 Entertainment, didn’t want to rush out an album.

“Our industry is lacking on a wholesale level of artist development…and we feel that [Wap is] just so brilliant and has developed this new style, new sound,” said Cohen, who helped shape the careers of Jay Z, Ja Rule, and Ludacris.

Wap currently has two top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100—”Trap Queen” and “My Way”—while a third, “679,” sits at No. 17.

And there’s no stopping the Paterson, New Jersey native, who recently shared the stage with Taylor Swift and is nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards this month.

You can catch him on Chris Brown’s “One Hell of a Nite” tour, which kicked off last night in Kansas City.
