Pharrell Performs ‘Freedom’ on ‘Tonight Show’ Marquee

Pharrell Williams let “Freedom” ring on Friday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The Neptunes hitmaker capped off Fallon’s premiere week with an unprecedented performance. Perched atop “The Tonight Show” marquee outside 30 Rockefeller Center, he performed his empowering anthem for the poncho-clad crowd who gathered in the wet streets. Taxis drove by as he and his Baes dedicated the performance to NYC.

“You know why I love New York City? Because you guys make no apologies for who you are,” said Pharrell as the crowd swayed along.

He will return as a coach on “The Voice” on Sept. 21 and head overseas for the Apple Music Festival in London on Sept. 26.
