King Mez Performs for 'Next Up'

King Mez is living up to his royal name. The North Carolina upstart has been make waves on the underground circuit with a series of mixtapes including his most recent, 2014’s Long Live the King. At the age of 25, he already has a co-sign from rap royalty—He appears on three tracks off Dr. Dre’s final album Compton (“Darkside/Gone,” “Satisfiction,” and “Talk About It”).

Earlier this month, he gained some new fans with his cypher at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. Now the rapper-producer, who’s opened for Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Wale, continues to show and prove. He is featured in McDonald’s “Next Up” series of artists to watch (alum include Fetty Wap and Justine Skye).
