Video: G-Eazy - 'Sad Boy'

G-Eazy turns his reality into an animated story in the video for “Sad Boy” off his sophomore album When It’s Dark Out. The Bay Area rapper shares his struggles while on the come up to stardom in the black-and-white clip, illustrated by Joonbug and animated by Applebutter Animated.

“We fake it till we make it / Work while everyone doubts / I was dreaming of award shows while still on the couch,” raps G-Eazy, born Gerald Gillum.

But his dreams are now a reality. When It’s Dark Out debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hip-Hop/R&B Albums chart, with 130,000 units in its first week.

G-Eazy will launch his “When It’s Dark Out Tour” with A$AP Ferg on Jan. 6 in Portland, Ore.
