New Music: French Montana feat. Kanye West & Nas - 'Figure It Out'

  /  02.19.2016

On Friday evening, French Montana unleashed his Max B-hosted mixtape Wave Gods featuring a smattering of star power—from Travis Scott and Big Sean to Kanye West and Nas, who both appear on “Figure It Out.” On the introspective track, which French calls his favorite collaboration to date, the trio does some soul searching.

French reflects on the death of Chinx and Max B’s incarceration (“Why God take Max and Chinx, but he ain’t take me when I got hit?”), Nas gets personal (“I’m a G, I need privacy”), and an Auto-Tuned ‘Ye provides the hook (“No matter how much I try, I can’t lie to you”).

This is not French and Kanye’s first collaboration. They worked together on “All Day,” which earned French his first Grammy nomination.
