New Music: Wyclef Jean – ‘My Girl’

“It’s the return of the Carnival man.” With that announcement on his new single “My Girl,” Wyclef Jean confirms his comeback.

Horns announce the Fugees frontman’s return, as the uptempo jam kicks off the promo for Carnival III. Flirtatious rhymes and boasts complete the Sasha Mari-assisted banger, in which an “Island Romeo” meets his “City Juliet.”

Carnival III is the third installment in Clef’s Carnival series, following 1997’s The Carnival and 2007’s Carnival Vol. II: Memoirs of an Immigrant.

The release of “My Girl” comes just a day after Wyclef showed off his freestyle skills on “Sway in the Morning.” During a taped SXSW session, Clef rhymed in English, Spanish, German, and French.
