New Music: Skizzy Mars feat. JoJo - 'Recognize'
Before she takes the stage at Rap-Up LIVE tonight, JoJo teams up with Skizzy Mars on “Recognize,” a new single off the young rapper’s upcoming album Alone Together.
The infectious rap and pop fusion blends genres while Skizzy and JoJo go back and forth about love and trust. “I hope you recognize a real one when you see one,” the “Save My Soul” songstress sings on the catchy hook. Meanwhile, Mars rhymes about sex and staying up for “three straight nights talkin’ ’bout shit that’s abstract.”
Skizzy is in the midst of a 41-city tour and gearing up to drop Alone Together on April 8. JoJo is also keeping busy with the upcoming release of her third album, her first since 2006’s High Road.
“I did what felt right and I tried different things, and I took my time and just kinda played around, and what came out is an eclectic body of work, but with more of a cohesive theme,” she told Rap-Up TV last year. “It is diverse, but it’s all very true to who I am and what I love.”
