Stand up, little “Sally.” Rising star Bibi Bourelly unleashes the empowering video for the new single off her upcoming EP Free the Real.
From strip clubs to the streets, the clip showcases people from all walks of life and some familiar faces (Little Simz, Jackie Cruz, and Larsen Thompson make cameos) with a common goal: to show who Sally really is. And who exactly is Sally?
“SALLY, at his or her core, is someone who shakes off hate, negativity, and bad vibes and maintains focus and energy on what is most important for him or her,” Bibi’s website reads. “SALLY is an identifier for like-minded people coming together towards a common goal. SALLY is the modern day, genderless Rosie the Riveter, a symbol for a new generation of people.”
Bibi is quickly making a name for herself, having collaborated with Usher and Nas (“Chains”) and penning Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money.” Just last month, she made her television debut on “The Tonight Show.”
