Drake is full of surprises. With less than two weeks until the release of his album Views From the 6, GQ’s “Most Stylish Man Alive” announced a surprise pop-up shop in New York City.

Sponsored by Beats by Dre, the store opened its doors at 135 Bowery at 4 p.m. on Monday (Apr. 18). According to Billboard, around 800 people stood in line after Drake made the announcement on social media.

“Hoping everybody gets laced at the pop up in NYC today. VIEWS APRIL 29,” said Drake, who was not present.

Fans that were lucky enough to make their way inside were able to score one of 1,000 white and black T-shirts and shopping bags adorned with Drake’s Views logo, designed by New York graphic artist Filip Pagowski.

The 6 God’s marketing may remind fans of 2013, which is when Drake opened up similar Compliments of the Company shops around the country ahead of his album Nothing Was the Same. That year, he opened up stores in New York, Los Angeles, and, of course, Toronto.

Due April 29, Views has already spawned two singles, “One Dance” and “Pop Style” featuring Jay Z and Kanye West.
