Madonna to Honor Prince at Billboard Music Awards

From one icon to another. Madonna is set to honor her late friend, the legendary Prince at this month’s Billboard Music Awards.

Armed with a top secret homage, Madge will will join a star-studded list of BBMA performers on May 22, including Justin Bieber, DNCE, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Pink, and Britney Spears.

When Prince passed on April 21, Madonna celebrated the late great star with a post on Instagram.

“He Changed The World,” she wrote. “A True Visionary. What a loss. I’m Devastated. This is Not A Love Song.”

Prince helped co-write Madonna’s “Love Song” for her 1989 album Like a Prayer, and also sang and played guitar on the song.

Another legendary artist, Celine Dion, is also ready to receive a tribute that night when she takes the stage and receives her ICON Award.

The Weeknd, who is up for 19 awards in 16 categories, is also looking to have a big night. Meanwhile, Ludacris and Ciara are set to host the event, which is set to air live from Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Sunday, May 22.
