Mila J Covers Prince's 'Erotic City'

  /  05.26.2016

The Prince tributes continue to pour in. Following Madonna and Stevie Wonder’s Billboard Music Awards performance, Mila J honors the late icon, who passed away in April, with a cover of “Erotic City.”

The L.A. songstress felt compelled to pay homage to Prince because the two have strong ties. As an infant, Mila’s first concert was the Purple One’s. Then, as a 7-year-old, she appeared in his music video for “Diamonds and Pearls.” Finally, in 2014, the late legend sampled her song “Blinded” on “U Know.”

In 2014, Mila told VIBE that she was “completely shocked” by “U Know.”

“Everybody that knows me [knows Prince is] the ultimate artist to me,” she said. “I’ve always just been obsessed with Prince or any project that he even touches, from Vanity 6 to Apollonia, just everything. It still hasn’t really sunken in yet, so I’m still trying to register it.”
