New Music: Wale - 'Her Wave'

  /  06.09.2016

Wale is riding a wave right now.

In recent weeks, the MMG rapper has dropped his Self Made 4 collaboration “Make It Work” with Rick Ross and Meek Mill and his own solo single “My P.Y.T.” And now he continues that streak with his latest release, “Her Wave.”

The song samples Miguel’s “Waves” and features an underwater soundscape. “Don’t give my love away,” sings Wale. “I know you got that wave that everybody rides.”

Miguel’s “Waves” has inspired several remixes since its release, including renditions by Tame Impala, Kacey Musgraves, and Travis Scott. Meanwhile, Folarin is crafting his fifth LP, SHINE (Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy), the follow-up to last year’s Jerry Seinfeld-assisted The Album About Nothing.
