ScHoolboy Q Performs 'Groovy Tony' & 'THat Part' on 'Late Show'
ScHoolboy Q brings Blank Face LP to “The Late Show.”
On Wednesday (Jun. 29), the TDE spitter performed a medley of “Groovy Tony” and a solo version of “THat Part” on Stephen Colbert’s stage. Sporting his now trademark hat and gold chains on his neck, Q delivered both dark singles from his upcoming album Blank Face LP.
During the performance, Q also provided a special version of “THat Part” with new lyrics in Kanye West’s absence. “Made a mill and I spent that in the same day,” he raps on the alternate verse. “Bought a chopper, not an AK / Getting money on a vacay / Couple Benzes in the driveway / Groovy Tony on July 8.”
The reference, of course, is a shout-out to Blank Face LP’s July 8 release date.
Over the weekend, Groovy Q told Rap-Up TV that fans can expect “the best” from him on this album because he’s had more time to craft it.
“I recorded at my house,” he said. “I had a lot of time and I did whatever I wanted to do. I never felt rushed or pressured. Sometimes, when you’re in a big studio, you do studio time as a 12-hour session, so you feel like you gotta do everything that day. This time, I was able to work on a record for 24 hours and I never felt this happy in my life working on a record.”
