New Music: Chris Brown - 'A Lot of Love' & 'My Friend'

  /  07.07.2016

Chris Brown’s got “A Lot of Love.”

Over a thumping beat, Breezy gets melodic on an uplifting new song about prevailing over “prejudice and violence.”

Puling inspiration from The Five Stairsteps’ classic “O-O-H Child,” Brown also provides a hopeful message. “Ooh, child, things are gonna get easier,” he sings. “And all the pain will go away, starting today.”

Listen to “A Lot of Love” below.

The track about rising above despair was accompanied by a heartfelt, passionate message in the wake of recent police shootings.

“Something’s got to give,” he said. “We’re getting killed everyday…This shit needs to stop, bro.”

But Breezy wasn’t done. He followed up with the release of another emotional song called “My Friend.”

“This song I released for free for anybody dealing with injustice or struggle in their lives,” he tweeted.

“I can’t even cry,” he sings. “Anxiety at night / Can’t make up excuses / Gotta face the music.”
