Mod Sun and DeJ Loaf are living it up. The Rostrum Records rapper connects with the Detroit MC to create the ultimate party anthem, “We Do This Shit.”
“We do this shit every night,” Mod Sun sing-raps on the carefree track. “All we ever see is flashing lights / And they don’t fuck with us, psych, we do whatever we like.”
The easy-going flare continues with DeJ’s verse. “Living my life like I want to,” she raps. “Looking at you like I want you / Good vibes, good vibes / I think I hit the bong too.”
The party vibe is precisely what Mod was going for with the track. “There is nothing better than a song you can play while you’re getting ready to go out, while you’re in the middle of a party, or while you are on your way home, hanging out the window of a cab,” he explained. “I’ve always wanted one of those songs.”
Mod Sun, which stands for “Movement On Dreams Stand Under None,” has collaborated with G-Eazy and ScHoolboy Q in the past. He is currently readying his album for the fall.
