Drake Responds to Eminem Beef Rumor

  /  08.04.2016

Is the Drake and Eminem beef all hype?

Just one day after reports of a 6 God-Rap God feud fired up the hip-hop world, it seems things are starting to simmer down.

Yesterday, Hot 97 and Beats 1 host Ebro Darden recalled a private conversation he had with Drizzy. “I told Drake that the rumor was that Eminem was gonna gear up to come after him,” Ebro said on his show. “He laughed. He was like, ‘That’s not gonna happen. He’d never do that and if he did, I’ve got something for him too.’ This was a private convo…That’s what he said.”

After the story made headlines and spread across social media, Drizzy appeared to respond to the speculation. “If they don’t have a story these days…🙄,” he wrote on Instagram.

Fans recognize that as a line from the Views song “9.” The complete lyric goes: “If they don’t have a story these days, they’ll make one.”

Darden’s original statements caused a firestorm, but the host later backtracked. “It was such a joke,” he tweeted. “People ran with it… Slow news day. Drake got too much respect for all that.”

Eminem’s longtime lawyer, manager, and business partner Paul Rosenberg also addressed the conversation. “Slow news day I see,” he wrote on Twitter.

Rosenberg also retweeted a 2009 post from Drake regarding Eminem’s “greatness.”

Even Joe Budden got involved, adding “Slow news day” on Twitter.
