Report: Chris Brown's Accuser Sent Text Vowing to 'Set Him Up'

  /  09.01.2016

The drama surrounding Chris Brown’s assault with a deadly weapon case continues to intensify.

Now, a text message from Baylee Curran, the woman who accused Brown of threatening her with a gun, is being scrutinized, according to TMZ.

The text, allegedly sent by the former beauty pageant contestant on the day of the incident, was directed at a man named Safari (not to be confused with Safaree “SB” Samuels).

“Hey safari don’t you know this freak Chris brown is kicking me out of his house because I called his friend jewelry fake,” the alleged text reads. “Can you come get me my Uber is messing up if not I’m going to set him up and call the cops and say that he tried to shoot me and that will teach him a lesson I’m going to set his ass up. Lol come get me.”

Safari’s alleged response? “Really that’s f*** up you ain’t going to do that your wrong if you do.”

According to the report, there are reasons to believe and to doubt the text’s authenticity.

Apparently, a Lyft driver did go to pick her up, but left because she was hiding under a car. This could be what’s alluded to in the “Uber is messing up” text.

However, Safari has had his own issues with Curran, claiming that she stole a Rolex from him last year and that they haven’t spoken since, an allegation she has also denied.

Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos is attempting to authenticate the text, but is confident that the outcome will be in his client’s favor.

“It has become apparent that the allegations are not just false,” he told the Los Angeles Times, “but fabricated.”

Brown is currently out on $250,000 bail.
